Check your server's error logs for information. It might be a syntax error with the settings file. This might help: https://www.000webhost.com/forum/t/where-are-the-server-logs-and-php-logs-and-can-i-access-them/66879

I figured out that the .htaccess file is the root of the problem, I'm not able to pinpoint what in the file is causing the application error. Please help

Does deleting the .htaccess file solve the issue? If anyone else is using Apache, could you please let us know if the most recent .htaccess file is working on your installation?

It doesn't show the site at all, it will just show the apache installation successful page.

Your server is not configured correctly, or you are uploading TinyIB to a different location than the server is expecting. Please open a support ticket with your host.

Are you following the README and visiting /imgboard.php? Visiting / is expected to not work initially.

Sorry, I don't have time to debug host-specific issues. I am positive this is a problem with your server somehow as no one else has reported such a problem.

I wanted to see if I could reproduce this issue so I signed up for a free acount with 000webhost, just to test it. I'm not sure what @chadmoderd might be doing differently but it works without any problems on my side. You can see the live demo I configured at https://tinyib-bug-test.000webhostapp.com/

It didn't require any weird steps, I just uploaded a copy of TinyIB via FTP into its "public_html" folder, including replacing the stock .htaccess file with the one included with TinyIB, and all basic functionality seems to work fine. I speculate it isn't an issue with the host but an issue with how OP has uploaded or configured TinyIB.

I just tried a new account, still getting an application error. Literally followed all the steps that are provided. I uploaded all files, and even without touching anything, when going to the web-address it gives me an application error.
